Header Welcome

It is with great pride and excitement that we take up the mantle of delivering the 2009 international Garden Centre Congress here in Northwest England. Previous congresses have had fleeting visits into this beautiful part of the world but never before have we had the chance to show-off the depth of history and culture, the diversity of landscape and of course, the warmth and humour of the inhabitants.

As a veteran of eleven previous Congresses (and Dad has done many more!) we have benefited so much from this event and we are now delighted to be able to give something back. The Northwest has an un-paralleled wealth of award-winning Garden Centres to show you and each with its own unique character.Coming at the time it does, you will also get to see what surely must be some of the world’s best Christmas displays.

The Garden Centres however, are only one aspect of the Congress and we will be taking you to some breath-taking venues as well. Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire; a private visit to the gardens at Eaton Hall, family home of the Duke and Duchess of Westminster; the 314 year old topiary garden at Levens Hall; a cruise on the idyllic lake Windermere; dinner at Peckforton Castle and of course a Ferry on the Mersey!

The Northwest has been home to many of the UK’s finest entertainers over the years and we shall be bringing a flavour of that to the Congress, so don’t forget your dancing shoes!

In 2009 for the first time we shall be running a study tour alongside the main congress. This is aimed at the next generation of Garden Centre Managers and will involve extensive analysis of the centres visited. By using good value accommodation and through generous sponsorship, we are able to run this at a lower cost and hope this will encourage more Managers to attend. This will be great value so please think who could benefit within your organisation.

ImageNumbers for the event are limited and we had a great start when over 60 delegates signed up in Canada so don’t delay, why not book today?
We look forward to welcoming you to Manchester.
